It is time to increase teacher pay for seasoned teachers, and time to raise the maximum salary step from 26 to 30. We are competitive with our first-year teacher salaries, but we need to have competitive pay for experienced teachers.
CLOSING THE GAP #2
We need to be strategic in bridging the academic gap for students from underserved student populations. Let us consider providing resources for smaller classes, team teaching, after-school programs to work on EOC objectives, and let us talk to schools who have success in this area to find out what works.
SUPPORT LEARNING DIFFERENCES #3
Our schools should always be open to accommodating students with learning differences. Let us not limit accommodations, we should try everything we can, until we find the best solution for individual student needs.
